Jowe
Blkk, was born and raised in the Bronx. Around the age of fifteen
he began what he called his "hobby" of rapping. While in
high school he joined a group called N.Y.C.U (Not Your Common Understanding).
None of the members knew anything about making beats so they were
forced to buy beats from a associate who was a producer working with
Ruff Ryders. When Jowe came to a realization that, if one of the members
in the group learned how to make beats they wouldn't have to keep
paying for them. That's exactly what he did he learned through trial
and error and After high school Jowe decided to take futher steps
to enhance his skills in the art of producing. He acheieved this goal
by attending school at Touro College and graduating with a Degree
in Audio Engineering. In 2000 he began producing his own music. During
the past few years he has produced five different albums for artist
in his crew and has produced and co-wrote an R&B album. He has
also opened up for big names in the industry including Busta Rhymes
and Rah Digga. Traveling and performing all across the United States,
Jowe always returns home to his roots. When asked about his music
Jowe stated " I really don't see myself as being a huge superstar.
I just enjoy making music that people can relate to. I feel that a
lot of artists in the game forget about real life issues that so many
people are dealing with on a day to day basis. People like to know
that they aren't the only ones going through sh@t in there lives.
I think that when people hear my music they feel a bond with me. Everything
I rap about is something I have experienced or witnessed. I keep it
true to the game." |
