SOLDIER

No gated communities or white picket fences.
Just tall brick buildings with black steel gates to keep us defensive.

Deferred hoop dreams replaced by inflated robbery schemes - were the scenes of my surreal life where everything was not always what it seemed.

Never knew there was more to life until I started living like life was
no more.
I had to turn the light on in the dark because I knew my life was no
game, but a war.

I came from nothing but I made something and proved that the improbable was possible.
Everyday I wake up I thank GOD for giving me an opportunity to make it through.

So while you are crying over having a hard day I am grateful for having a rough life.
Wake up and stop complaining because life is death without the fight!
